The Diocese of Las Cruces Foundation Inc. was established on September 16, 1988. The foundation's purpose is exclusively to enhance and assist the educational and charitable work of the Diocese of Las Cruces.

The Foundation serves the area of ministry for the Diocese of Las Cruces which comprises of 44 parishes, 45 missions, 6 schools, and approximately 140,000 constituents. The Diocese covers 10 counties which make up approximately 45,000 square miles. It is considered to be one of the largest mission diocese in the USA primarily because approximately 1/3 of the diocesan population survive at the lowest economic level.

The mission of the Diocese of Las Cruces Foundation is to establish and maintain operational endowment funds, develop programs and activities to generate income and contributions for the fund, assist contributors making current and or planned gifts to achieve the tax advantages and benefits that arise from such actions, manage the funds to maintain principal and to distribute investment earnings, and to ensure earnings from gifts with specifically-designated purpose are faithfully used for the designated purpose.
