Human Resources
The office of the Vice-Chancellor is primarily responsible for Human Resource functions for The Pastoral Center, including recruiting, screening, hiring and evaluating lay employees; drafting and implementing personnel policies for The Pastoral Center, and providing advice, research and review of policies to parishes as requested.
Pastoral Planning
The office of the Vice-Chancellor is involved in Pastoral Planning for the diocese. This includes coordinating parish transition visits for Bishop Ramirez, twice annual planning meetings for diocesan staff and vicars, working with an outside consultant on various planning initiatives, and working with parish councils as requested. The Vice-Chancellor is also the diocesan liaison to the Diocesan Pastoral Council and serves as liaison to the Copper Vicariate.
Background Investigations
The HR Assistant conducts background investigations for all employees and volunteers throughout the diocese, and keeps a database for all background investigations and sexual misconduct workshop attendees, as well as assisting in all aspects of Human Resource management at The Pastoral Center.
Internal Administration
The Vice Chancellor serves on the Bishop's Administrative Council and the Budget Review Committee. The office supervises the maintenance staff and receptionist. The HR Assistant serves as Office Manager, overseeing all the building systems.
